About

Asher Neate

With over 10 years of training and experience in the health care industry, I am dedicated to providing specialised support for individuals.  Working closely with people has led me to developed a particular interest in mental health and it's overall effects on quality of life. I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Addiction Studies (2015) and a Diploma in Counselling (2018). I am currently registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

My therapeutic work has enabled me to interact with people from many walks of life. This has involved working with adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a range of issues. At the core of my therapeutic practice I believe that respect, compassion and collaboration with the client sets a solid foundation for the progressing relationship. Acknowledging the client is the expert in their own life, I facilitate the environment and provide resources to build on the clients own strengths to progress and embrace life.

I believe in empowering individuals to recognise, own and embrace their power and strengths to promote growth to live the most fulfilling life possible.

I have a broad view and multiple avenues in life to draw on for exploration and interpretation of life events individuals present with. Encouraging clients to question and challenge the constructs which shape their thoughts, feelings and behaviour enables the client to analyse and interpret their life experience, expectations and processes in a way which allows objectivity.

I enjoy my work immensely and take great pride in being able to facilitate change for individuals to thrive in their life incorporating various therapy techniques to achieve this.
